It's quite obvious by the number of posts I make that there are two main areas I visit in the state of Kansas that have provided me with many great photo opportunities. Pillsbury Crossing, when the water is flowing, is tough to beat. Unfortunately, during this visit, it was down to a trickle.
This image fully demonstrates the main reasons why I really enjoy shooting HDR. The tops of the trees are in full sun, while the rest of the scene, 100% shade. A single exposure would not be able to capture the detail of both areas in a single shot without being overblown.
